Macy's Update

Just in case you were wondering the status of the Macy's Christmas boots debacle...here's the scoop. Since we had Monday off of work (love random banking holidays) and my husband no longer goes to work, we decided Macy's must be dealt with that very day. First, a phone call....nothing. Just voicemail. So Chris decides to drive to Macy's and take care of the boots issue and I chicken out, claiming I'm too busy working on our taxes (I don't like confrontations and didn't want any part of the wrath he was about to unleash on the store manager) and let him go up there by himself. Chris leaves and comes home about 30 minutes later.....fairly calm and says "no dice". WHAT????? How can you go up there in person with this obviously easy to fix issue (it's called a refund and a genuine I'm sorry for your trouble) and come home with no resolution? Well, he says they could only refund him the shipping because they couldn't verify that the boots had been returned. Weird, I thought that metal box at each check out was called a computer and contained all kinds of useful information on their inventory and customers. Hmmm. So, a few hours later he gets a call. It's MACY's!!!!!!! They actually called him back! And they verified the boots had indeed been returned like he's told them the last 85 times he's called. But, unfortunately, they need his physical card to process the refund. Also weird, because we own a business and we occasionally refund people's money and we don't require them to come see us in person to show us their credit card for a refund. Must be a Macy's thing (kind of like they are the only store on the planet that doesn't forward their bills to "please forward to" addresses customers have on file) - I guess it makes perfect sense. So, more on Friday....he is making another trip up there to get the refund.

By the way - this is a lot of trouble for a pair of boots I have never even seen. Still boycotting Macy's for now. More to come later.

I wish I had a picture of this lady

Yesterday, I made a pitstop at Starbuck's for my favorite drink (Grande Nonfat Light Whip Peppermint White Mocha - feel free to buy me one anytime) when I saw an absolute fashion disaster. A lady was sitting at a table with a gentleman in a suit - I think it may have been a casual meeting, perhaps an interview. The lady's back was to me and all I could see is a bow of some sort sticking up from her head. I knew it was wrong on all levels just from the sheer size of the bow but I couldn't really see it clearly. As I received my pepperminty heaven from the barista, the fashion disaster exited the building with me. I wish I had a picture. This lady actually left the house with a Coach scarf tied around her head (which would have been okay if the scarf was flat on top and hung down in the back - which is a cute look) and tied a GIANT bow on TOP of her head!! Like a 5 year old! And she had plaid shoes on....a whole separate story and insignificant in comparison to the bow disaster. I doubt she got that job....

Why I want to blog

Initially, I decided to create a blog for venting, hence the name. I have a lot of pent up anger for idiots, bad drivers and bad customer service. However, I doubt I will really have that much to bitch about, as I am extremely happy and blessed to live the life I have. I have a wonderful family and great friends so I will try to keep you informed on what's going on in my life and provide you some of my everyday thoughts and observations along the way! Thanks for reading...

I hate Macy's

Macy's is my mortal enemy. Here's why:

1. They ruined my credit. Okay, I may have had a small part in this...but only about 20% my fault. When we moved into our new house, I forwarded our mail. I received many forwarded credit card statements and bills, which prompted me to call those creditors and change my address. Pretty standard, right? Well, about 6 months after moving we decide to refinance our house and come to find out my credit score had dropped significantly (to the point where I couldn't even get the loan) because my Macy's account was in collections. What? I had not heard a peep out of macy's since we moved. Aha! I figured it out - I never changed my address with them so I called to work it out. Turns out Macy's doesn't believe in forwarding credit card statements because it contains "sensitive information" like ever other major company in the world. Whatever, like they could not have sent me a letter without sensitive information (that would have been forwarded) letting me know they had been receiving returned mail from me for months now??? Every other major credit card didn't have a problem forwarding me my mail - what makes Macy's different. I'll tell you.....they SUCK!

2. My husband Chris purchased some boots for me for Christmas and paid a ridiculous amount of money to have them sent 2 day mail to Colorado to my Mom's so I could have them for Christmas. Well, 4 days later, no package from Macy's. Christmas came and went - no boots. We came home to Dallas - no boots. Finally, a week and two days later - boots came! My mom refused the shipment since it did her no good to have to ship them to me. chris has called them repeatedly to get his money back and here it is January 15th and we have no boots and have not received a refund.

3. There are other reason's but I feel I have vented enough on this subject for now....
